Lansdowne House
Lansdowne Road · studios that were home to Ricketts and Shannon
Lansdowne House was built as a block of grand artists’ studios, and among its residents were the painters Charles Ricketts and Charles Shannon. The two men were partners for some fifty years, living and working side by side and building a celebrated collection of art that they left to the nation.
Their devoted life together, quietly maintained across half a century, is part of the building’s story. English Heritage’s blue plaque marks the studios.
